This is an important and large Abelam lintel from the eastern Abelam area bordering on West Yangoru, Papua new Guinea.Due to the early and robust carving of this piece the powerful demeanor still comes through.The remnants of red and yellow pigments remain strong.the lintel was attached to the lower part of the spirit house, supporting the large triangle painted gable structure of the spirit house.
